New Years' Greetings

From my cast to yours:

Poor Sakamae.  If it helps, there's no year of the wolf, bear or shark either and it won't really be the Year of the Tiger 'til February.

And depending on which version of the Chinese zodiac you use, the change out year of the rabbit for year of the cat. *looks rather smug*

I noticed that in regards to the Vietnamese zodiac, but the Chinese zodiac only seems to have stories regarding the rat's trickery of the cat. But the earthly branches have been reshuffled so often that I may have missed it...do you happen to have a link?

[identity profile] girlofbubastis.livejournal.com 2010-01-02 04:52 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, you are correct, perhaps I should have been more specific. yes, the mun is an idiot :P

[identity profile] burning-bryghte.livejournal.com 2010-01-02 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
No worries! I was just afraid that I'd missed something glaringly obvious...or, worse, been reading touristy information! *gasp* They're so closely tied! It seems like every little island-nation in that part of the world developed their own variation.

This is very true.

Year of the Tiger? *small smile* Looks to be quite an interesting year coming up for all involved.

[identity profile] burning-bryghte.livejournal.com 2010-01-02 05:11 am (UTC)(link)
The Metal Tiger, to be precise...which bodes well for the war effort.

Oh? And what might your resolutions be?

[identity profile] sunnotshadows.livejournal.com 2010-01-02 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
I... I had not thought to make any. Have you some suggestions for me, Linette? *wider grin*

[identity profile] burning-bryghte.livejournal.com 2010-01-02 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
*purses lips thoughtfully* Why don't we begin with resolving to find you something a little more city-chic for your downtown visits? Believe me when I say that you are far too delicate for camo.

Surely your aristo-vamp friends have said the same!

[identity profile] sunnotshadows.livejournal.com 2010-01-02 05:26 am (UTC)(link)
But I thought everyone wore this style in the city, yes?

Hmm. I don't think that what I normally wear would be considered appropriate either. So this means we must shop for something different?

And the Giovanni's have never seen me in Camouflage cloth. Thankfully.

[identity profile] burning-bryghte.livejournal.com 2010-01-02 06:42 am (UTC)(link)
Perhaps that is the case in France? *she is trying to be charitable about this*

No, a strategically placed leaf would only bring the Public Decency Police down on your head. But I think you would not find a light sundress too objectionable.

That explains SO MUCH.

[identity profile] sunnotshadows.livejournal.com 2010-01-02 06:55 am (UTC)(link)
Non. However, this is what we in France think that Americans wear. This and pants that are three sizes too large, hanging down over their butts.

*eyebrow raised* And why would I bother hiding behind a single leaf? It is not as if you could not see what it would be hiding *laughs*

A sundress I can do. I have several of them in my closet.

They would never say a word, yet I feel I would shrivel from the looks in their eyes, were such thing to happen! No, nothing so banal around the Giovanni's. Oh no.

There's no Year of the Wolf, either-- So you can quit poutin', Kit.

[identity profile] jyu-ho.livejournal.com 2010-01-04 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
There's a year of the dog! And the relation's closer between you than on my side.

Just a little respect, that's all we want though we do quite well without it. It's the principle of the thing!

[identity profile] onikins.livejournal.com 2010-01-04 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
I don't need a year, but sure. Whatever. Like I don't get enough 'puppy' jokes.
